This is the great thing about God. The message and the purposes of God remain unchanged while his messengers take turns on the planet…Here we go again. Time to change. But fear not. The stars have not moved, the purposes of God are still at work and the Lord who called the past few generations, is calling yet another one- to step up and lead with stars in their eyes.” Wendell Smith
My brother, Pastor Wendell Smith, after bravely battling cancer for 6+ years, is now singing the Everlasting Song with our Dad and all the angels of heaven. There was no one like him, and we miss him dearly.
They come into our room, angels encircle us.we get personally, honorably ushered into a place where our favorite people greet us. With a joy we’ve never seen.they tell us about the path that leads to His throne. And you never want to go back to the planet of trouble, because you made it. You overcame. You got through everything, you called out on His name and He heard you. He helped you. He got you through.” Wendell Smith
About Pastor Wendell
Dr. Wendell Smith was the Founding Pastor of The City Church in Seattle, Washington. He and his wife Gini pioneered the church in 1992 and were the Senior Pastors for eighteen years. Under their leadership, The City Church grew from a launch team of twenty-one people into a multi-ethnic church of thousands.
In 2009, Wendell’s son and daughter-in-law, Judah and Chelsea, became the Lead Pastors of The City Church. Wendell and Gini continued to be actively involved in the leadership of church; they also provided apostolic oversight to an international network of churches. Pastor Wendell was a prolific author and well-known speaker who was passionate about equipping the body of Christ.
Dr. Wendell was diagnosed with cancer in 2004. His example of faith and his extensive writings and teachings on the subject of healing have inspired believers around the world to contend in faith for healing and health. Pastor Wendell passed peacefully into Heaven on December 19, 2010, surrounded by family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Gini; his daughter and son-in-law, Benny & Wendy Perez; his son and daughter-in-law, Judah & Chelsea Smith; and six grandchildren.

Your little brother,
Tim
