We had a wonderful time up north in British Columbia, Canada at Abbotsford Christian Assembly with Pastor Mitch and Bonnie Borrows. This great congregation has a rich heritage and history of powerful Holy Spirit movement in the region. I was honored to minster there for 3 days.
After meeting with the pastor and staff during the day on Friday, we opened up the seminar on Friday night with a great time of worship with the ACA worship team. Powerful flow that went easily into my teaching on the Vision of Worship – setting our sights on things above and expecting great things from God in His wonderful presence. At the end I gave an altar call for resetting vision in hearts and the altar was lined with passionate worshipers. This set the tone for an amazing weekend with these precious people of faith! (I really do love Canada!)
Saturday was a very full day of worship, more teaching and a lot of release in the spirit of worship in every session. I finished up the teaching on Vision and then went into some practical applications of this vision into the actual flow of worship every time we come together. The team was so easy to work with and jumped readily into every opportunity afforded them to work on their flow, release, transitions, etc. In the afternoon we dove into the more spontaneous aspects of Holy Spirit-led worship. I taught them new expressions, songs from the word, singing old hymns in new ways and singing their prayers. Powerful time from beginning to ending!
Sunday morning was just delightful with full-on worship, a faith-filled congregation, passionate songs, and joy abounding throughout the service. I had the privilege of playing a beautiful 10 year-old handmade cello from a local violin-maker, Hermann Janzen, for the whole weekend. So on Sunday I had the pleasure of playing a little bit of Bach on the cello, leading into ‘Our God’ (Chris Tomlin) – and we soared in faith for a while on that great song. Near the end of the worship time we had another altar call for salvation, healing, and reconnection to God! Packed again! What a powerful time where the Holy Spirit seemed to be doing some sweet work in many people’s lives! I then preached on Extreme Worship talking about Abraham, Job and David worshiping God in extreme situations. Then I added a few worldwide examples of God’s people worshiping Him in the midst of very difficult and trying circumstances in their lives: Lepers in India, Widows and Orphans in Uganda, church in Kamchatka, Russia.
Tim Smith’s worship conference here at our Church in Abbotsford B.C. was nothing short of brilliant. We involved all our worship teams from every department in the Church and they were so encouraged with the wide range of experience that Tim imparted to them. The teaching was well delivered to fit our scenario and worked well to strengthened our spiritual, technical and practical expressions. Tim loves the local Church and has a passionate heart for worship and worshippers and communicated this clearly in how he invested himself fully in all our worship ministries and the many individuals from sound and media people to musicians and singers and the many key leaders. He had time for everyone! What a blessing he has been to our Church I would love for you to have him and not miss out on this awesome ministry. You will be greatly encouraged and propelled forward in your worship. Thank you Tim! – Pastor Mitch Borrows, Abbotsford Christian Assembly, Abbotsford, BC Canada
What a powerful time with a diverse and growing congregation! We look forward to returning soon to see what God continues to do in this area!
Thanks Pastor Mitch and Bonnie and Jaime and Sarah and the whole church for taking good care of me and receiving so wholeheartedly the vision of spirit-filled worship in your church! Next time you will get to meet my amazing midwife-wife Maryl!
in Him,
Dr. Tim
