Worship Without Borders jumps into 2013

We give thanks to an amazing God for another incredible year at Worship Without Borders and for your generous part in making us successful. From Guatemala to Canada to China and more, Maryl and I have seen God move powerfully in worship around the world. Here are some highlights:

WWOB 2012 highlights:

  • February 2012 was a great month for two powerful worship conferences: Worship Northwest in Salem, OR with hundreds of churches around the Northwest       – and Praise and Prophecy Conference in Eugene, OR where we joined Ernest and Joy Gentile along with Mike Herron and Wake Up the Dawn from Medford. And a special delight to lead worship with our worship team from our home church, Life Change Christian Center in Portland, OR.
  • In March 2012 we had a powerful worship seminar at Hood River Covenant in Hood River, OR with a lot of old friends in the Columbia Gorge.
  • In April and May 2012 I had a unique opportunity to teach 4 classes in worship and music to the whole worship leadership class at City Christian High School in Portland, OR. At the end of that we had a great chapel service with the whole school.
  • Early May 2012 brought us to Bend, OR for a great worship conference, The Well, at Westside Foursquare Church. Doug and Donna Lasit were the main speakers along with Jay Smith and Bo Stern.
  • May 2012 saw us venture into China for the very first time. The Xiamen International Christian Fellowship hosted a Worship Conference for 5 churches from all over China. This beautiful city made a great backdrop for a powerful release of praise and worship from these great people from 17 different nations! New songs, dancing and celebration, punctuated with good solid biblical teaching on worship for three days. They want us back for a national conference next year.
  • In July 2012 we returned to Guatemala City at Elim Central Church with Pastor Hector Nufio and his son, Paul, youth and worship pastor. This year we were joined by an excellent worship band, Wake Up the Dawn, from Medford, Oregon. Jake and Natalie Schmelzer led this powerfully prophetic team into beautiful sessions of worship and teaching. The worship exploded as God moved mightily in song and Word. We are thrilled to be a part of what God is releasing there. They have again asked us to return for the third time this year! (June 2013)
  • September 2012 was a powerful worship seminar at Abbotsford Christian Assembly, in Abbotsford, BC, Canada with Pastor Mitch Borrows. Can’t wait to return there!

In six years Worship Without Borders has touched hundreds of churches, many nations on four continents and held over 45 local church worship seminars. We have seen the power of God touch countless lives as His worship is released in city after city and nation after nation. New songs are being birthed and prophetic worship is being released as His Spirit moves among His people.

In September we started the Life Change Worship Institute, a 12-week worship school for Life Change Christian Center with Pastors Mark and Marla Strong. I also continue to teach the worship segment at LCCC’s Leadership Institute (affiliated with George Fox University) and am involved in helping to set the course for the worship ministry there. In November I had the special honor to lead the worship teams from many Portland churches at the FatherShift Conference (sponsored by Life Change Christian Center) with hundreds of men and women being inspired and instructed concerning the fatherless generation – crucial days indeed!

I continue to teach at Worship Northwest in Salem OR and I am on the board for the International School of Worship in Lucknow, India, associated with Pastor August Anthony (Assembly of Believers Church) whose vision and strategy has planted over 500 churches with more than 50,000 believers throughout India, seeing Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists and Sikhs coming to Jesus.

pianoinworship-disc-4Our Piano in Worship DVD/book continues to sell well (special thanks to Eastside City Church in Calgary) This instructional book/DVD for flowing in worship is now in 29 nations and 39 states. We are working on getting it into main worship training centers and we also have opportunities to translate it into Spanish and other languages.
