This has been an amazing few weeks of God’s vision and God’s provision here in the Smith household. We continue to be humbled and encouraged by your prayers and support as we venture into this great season of our lives. Thank you for remembering us in prayer, notes, emails, cards, gifts, smiles, hugs and support.
I shared last time about two amazing seminars in Aberdeen and City Church, very unique but mutually powerful in the expression of Christ in worship and song. (see my wwblog)
We received word from the church in Aberdeen that the following Sunday, their worship leader led out in a prophetic song that was powerful and 4 people came to Christ. They are blown away by what God is doing there.
We returned to City Church two weeks later to attend Wendell’s honorary doctorate ceremony from Northwest University (no small miracle in itself!) and were honored to again lead their powerful Saturday night prayer and intercession and worship service. The next morning we were thrilled to join in worship with the City Church worship team and choir, lead by Pastor Leon Sandberg into a wonderful time of worship. Pastor Leon really went for it in leading prophetically with a confidence and anointing that I have never observed before. Very exciting.
We also recently heard from Steve Myall, Worship Pastor at Columbia Heights Assembly (see December 2006 wwblog) just had an incredible worship service: “This Sunday AM towards the end of worship the pastor felt led to open the altar for salvation; he said he felt there were some who have been thinking about committing their lives to Christ, he never got to preach, folks were getting saved and filled with the Spirit, it was awesome. A missionary was present and he said he travels to hundreds of churches and has rarely seen something like this.” – Steve Myall
Then last week I taught a Portland Bible College class on Wednesday called Prophetic Ministry and shared about the prophetic song in worship and I played my cello and guitar with some sweet worship and a prophetic song over the class.
The next day Maryl and I attended the City Bible Church ‘Thrive’ conference and were excited to see the depth of ministry and personableness of the conference. With close to 3000 in attendance, the worship was outstanding and the preaching/teaching was topnotch with a great sense of God’s anointing, multiplication, healing (over 100 on Thursday night responded to Richard Roberts’ ministry), and outpouring every meeting ending with an incredible time of ministry with Pastor Tommy Barnett. In between services, we were able to talk to, minister to, and pray with many pastors, worship pastors and ministry teams from all over the Northwest. Many of course we hope will be able to sponsor a WWOB seminar.
Highlights CBC Conference:
*Randy Alward, President of Maranatha Music taught a worship class. He is a former student body president of PBC and a good friend. Who knows what God might do there!
*The secretary from Living Waters in Tillamook, OR turned around to me one service and reminded me about a prophetic song I sang at Bible Temple years ago (Streams in the Desert @1986) that was sent out on a tape. Her church leaders were meeting one night to disband and disperse, but before they voted on it, they worshiped along with the tape. When they got to the prophetic song, they all broke down weeping and received a new sense of purpose, re-established the church, got a new pastor and the rest is history. She still has the transcript and the tape. Her words ‘Your song is the foundation of our church’!
*A young intern from City Church pulled me aside to tell me how much she enjoyed my new CD ‘Come Be With Me’ especially the song ‘Let not the Wiseman’. She said she was in a car listening to that song, when a young lady, a brand new Christian, in the backseat got filled with the Spirit! Wow!
I could go on, but needless to say we are stirred and excited for all that God is doing in our lives.
Please continue to pray:
*finances – God’s provision above and beyond so we can start seriously looking at the international scene that He has called us to as well as take care of all bills and the house here.
*Seminars – we are believing for two seminars a month (stateside) plus many miscellaneous times of ministry in churches around the Northwest.
*A real direction and strategy for the International Worship seminars. We could go to a lot of places but I know God has some strategic places in mind for us.
*Continued healing for Maryl for her back, sciatica, arthritis, knee, etc. She received some real healing last week at CBC. We would like that to continue so she can travel with me.
*Prophetic sense of God’s purposes and plans for worship in local churches and worldwide. Restoration of true worship in hearts and leaders around the world.
*I need to get back to writing and finishing two books for worship. Pastor Daren Lindley has offered to print them so I just need to finish them.
Again, thanks for all you do. We love you all.
In Him,
Tim and Maryl
PS as always, if you know of anybody who would want to host a seminar, give me their email and/or phone number and I will contact them. Thanks.
