Christmas and Advent can be the most wonderful time of the year – or the hardest and loneliest. We all hope to find a strong sense of God’s presence in our lives in this busy season. Christmas carols can be a reminder of the best and the not-so-best of Christmas. We love the classic carols and love putting them in new settings with fresh ideas that keep the integrity of the original intent but with a touch of creativity that allows us to hear these songs with new ears.

This month, Maryl and I have the wonderful opportunity to minister in seven churches in the Portland area. Here are some of them and if you are in the area, feel free to join us for any of these stirring times of worship of Jesus Christ, the newborn King!

  • The Mission PDX: On Sunday night, December 12 @ 5pm, Tim & Maryl and Dan & Georgene Rice along with Pastor Jim Andrew, invite you to re-hear (and re-sing) the carols you grew up with. Come hear the new song that Jesus wants to stir in your heart this season at The Mission PDX. With cello, flute, guitar, bass and keyboard they will interweave the songs that we all love with the songs of the Spirit. Come join them on this special night as we all worship afresh the newborn King. (909 NE 30th Portland, OR 97232)

Thank you all for your support throughout an amazing 2010! We wish you all a Merry Christmas from Worship Without Borders in Aloha, Oregon!
