What a year!! What an opportunity!! What an investment!
After a powerful time of ministry, training and releasing in India February 2020, we came back to the USA only to find confusion, distress and uncertainty! We have all been impacted by these last few months. Whether personally, your family, friends, your church, your job, your finances, I don’t know of anyone who has been immune to the consequences of a pandemic/economic shutdown/racial unrest in our nation. It has been very difficult to navigate the ups and downs and misinformation that has bombarded us daily since February!
During this challenge, my prayer time and devotional time has greatly increased as I seek to find my way through all of this by God’s guidance. His Word has been a constant source of comfort and revelation. Like many of you, we have had to take a sabbatical from all international and national travel and most ministry except locally. I have been privileged to participate in many video worship sessions (10 at this count) plus leading two worship sets for a wonderful group in Malaysia (Dignity for Children Foundation) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HlepM7vv_tU
We have celebrated a ton of birthdays, as well as our 46th anniversary; witnessed a few weddings and mourned for dear friends who have passed. Maryl continues to deliver babies during all of this (life continues on!)! I am giving private music lessons (cello, piano, guitar, voice) as well as meeting in Zoom meetings and some local mentoring. I love talking/messaging with friends around the world to encourage and inspire each other during this difficult time. We really need each other right now! I thank God for faithful friends!
One scripture has kept me centered: Micah 6:8 He has shown you o man what is good and what does the Lord require of you – to do justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with your God! Justice, mercy and humilty: three things so needed in today’s world. I am hoping and praying for God’s grace to lead me through this year and to show me how to effect all three of those in every area and every relationship in my life. I choose Jesus. I choose His kingdom. I choose life. I choose the cross. And since I’m a worship guy, I choose to bend the weary knee, to lift the tired hand, to raise a broken voice to the One Who loves us most! I pray you can do the same, as often as possible. Don’t quit. Don’t give up. He’s still King. He’s still Lord. He hasn’t given up on you or the world. Praise God!
While we would love your support during this financial challenge and certainly covet your prayers, I pray that you would remember the many missionaries all over the world who are struggling because of faltering support. Pray, send them a note of encouragement and at least a small gift to lift them up. God will prevail and His glory will cover the earth as the waters cover the sea. You want to be a part of that! :)
We do hope to get back to in person ministry soon but are preparing materials, videos and resources to fill the gap in the meantime.
What does your support/donation do?
- Finance our worship missionary work in poorer nations that otherwise would never be able to afford it.
- Purchase supplies and equipment for these churches (i.e. sound equipment, keyboards, drums, mics, piano tuning kits, music, computers, software and books etc.)
- Allow Worship Without Borders to reach any church regardless of their ability to cover expenses for a seminar.
- Give us the ability to invest in other ministries that we encounter around the world.
- Develop new materials to teach, instruct and release worship everywhere.
We are blessed to be where we are, for such a time as this. For His glory,
Your worship missionaries, Tim and Maryl Smith
